Confirming details
After contacting you, CI Costumes will contact you confirm the costume details and due dates. If you are based locally in Adelaide, we can organise a time to discuss the design and take your dancer’s measurements. This allows for correct measurement of the dancer/s to ensure a correct fit. CI Costumes will then provide a quotation.
If you would like to proceed we do require a $100 non refundable deposit to be paid to confirm the booking.
Please note the booking is not confirmed until the payment has been received. We do not reserve places without a deposit and it is first come first served basis.
We will confirm if your order can be completed by the requested date.
CI Costumes requires confirmation from the customer via email or messenger before any work is conducted, including full names and delivery addresses.
3
Design Confirmation
hile we are happy to look at any pictures you provide for inspiration, our designs will not be direct copies but our own designs. If you have a design of your own you would like us to manufacture please provide the design and discuss with us during the initial consultation.

If requesting a custom design, a detailed design is provided to serve as communication for us to visually represent your vision. While the completed costume will be close to the design, there will be natural variations due to gem patterning and differences in appliqué designs.
Please thoroughly review all the details prior to confirmation. If any changes are required, they must be notified by email or messenger. CI Costumes will then provide a revised version of your design and an updated quotation for approval. (Please note changes to the design and materials may change to initial quotation.)

Any changes made after the design has been approved may incur additional dressmaking and / or material fees.

We will not be held liable for damage or mistakes resulting from embellishment, including overstretching and non-stretching due to stone placement.

Sizing Guide
Please find the following measurements to use as a guide when ordering for your dancer. Most costumes are made with 4 way stretch material and have a lot of stretch in all directions. Any costumes with straps will come with an extra 4-5cm of strap to allow for growth. If you are purchasing a costume with non stretch or one way stretch material such as stretch satin or vinyl please size up by one size. We recommend buying a costume to best fit your dancers measurements as they are now.
We offer a full brief or standard brief on all custom costumes. We recommend a full brief for dancers with a fuller figure, and the standard brief for those with a medium to petite build.

Taking the measurements
Measure the circumference of the chest horizontally starting at the chest over the nipples around the back and back to the front.
Measure the circumference of the waist horizontally starting at the belly button around the back and back to the front.
Measure the circumference of the lower hip at the widest part of the bottom. Starting at the front around the bottom and back to the front.

Start at the shoulder, down the front of the body, through the legs and back up the back until you reach the same shoulder.
Skirt length
Place the tape measure at the waist on the back, let the tape run down over the bottom. Measure the length that you would like.
High hip (traditional tutu only)
Measure the circumference of the hips around the hip bone level.

Make sure the tape remains level all the way around and is not pulled too tight. Gentle tension only.
